So I was right about ‘Dead Poets Society’ becoming one of my favorite movies ever.
I mean, I don’t even like poetry, but you can totally watch it for the teenage rebellion, the preppy (and some just outright nerdy. And we’re talking late 80’s-early 90’s nerdy.) school boys in blazers and ties who run around shirtless maybe once or twice, said preppy school boys reading poetry and bringing flowers to shallower-than-a-sidewalk-puddle love interests, Robin Williams playing a serious role, etc.
About the only two major flaws I could find with it:
-A spoiler which I don’t want to reveal, but I must warn will probably leave you a good effing bit dissatisfied with the ending.
-The title is simply ‘Dead Poets Society,’ no ‘The’ anywhere, as far as I can tell. Dunno about you guys, but ‘The Dead Poets Society,’ just rolls off the tongue for me, and so in conversation I will most likely refer to it as such.
